Versatile Tile / Coaster: Printing Pansies; Cornucopia#1

Description

This ceramic tile features a digitally printed design created from an original flower hammered artwork made in my Norfolk studio. The print shows layered botanical impressions in deep blue, violet purple, plum red and golden yellow with natural texture and organic shapes. The colours blend across a soft cream base, capturing the details of the hammered petals in high resolution on the smooth ceramic surface. The tile can be used as a coaster, decorative display piece or wall tile. It is durable, easy to clean and designed to add a vibrant botanical element to the contemporary home.

Story

Last summer I began to fill a vintage lawn cloth with single Pansy Petals, I had filled a cloth before, in 2019, but did not isolate each petal and juxtapose the varieties for contrast, texture and depth. Cornucopia is like a box of jewels spilling open. I filled in any small spaces with ruby red geraniums and picked off tiny indigo verbena flowers. How differently each petal has printed here is what allures me. So many shapes, so many hues, so many depths. That is why I called it Cornucopia. One tiny little plant with so much variety.
